Openshift Getting Started HOWL

Today was quite different, I changed my self-studying sessions for a most effective one, I enrolled on a Hands on workshop & lab (HOWL) from RedHat’s devnation program.

This one was OpenShift Starter Guides for Java Developers even though I’m not a developer, I did the exercises (I haven’t finished but I will). The workshop was conducted by Edson @Yanaga and assisted by Natale Vinto, and it was anything but boring.

We were a lot of people doing the exercises, and Edson was also telling us about some interesting technologies like Istio for managing connections and keep tracing them, the kubernetes-native applications with quarkus, or the serverless approach.

I wasn’t able to finish the workshop today, but at least I got some point-of-interest on the map and was able to learn about pipelines. I hope I will complete the workshop before my cluster is removed at the end of the week.
